Is Chiropractic care safe?Yes! Chiropractic care is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self-regulating system controlled by the nervous system. Chiropratic works with your body in the healing process rather than against it. Nothing is added (such as medications) and nothing is taken away (as in surgery), so there is little risk. How do we define safe today? Most people take pain reliefs drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen, which mask symptoms and ignore the underlying cause of pain. Tens of thousands of people die each year from reactions to medically prescribed drugs. Is that safe?

Are Chiropractors real doctors? The Doctorate of Chiropratic degree is a four year program following four years of pre-med undergraduate studies. Doctors must also complete internships and externships as well as pass state and national board exams before being certified. Chiropractors must meet stringent licensing requirements, follow a strict code of ethics and be approved by governmental agencies. Continuing education is required by all states.

Will it hurt?Like setting down a heavy load, most patients report that adjustments feel good. When a misaligned spine is returned to its normal position and motion, nervous system function is restored, pain is relieved and natural healing begins.

How does Chiropractic work? The spine is the pathway to every part of the body. When the bones that protect the spine become misaligned it is called a "subluxation." Subluxation can result in back pain, migraines, and muscle pain throughout the body as you selfadjust by tensing muscles to try to relieve pain. This can cause long term health problems. Chiropractic uses specific adjustments to restore normal alignment and motion to the joints of the spine. By aligning the nervous system pathway, many health issues that may seem unrelated to back pain are resolved.

Will I need to keep coming for adjustments?Only you can decide how long you wish to continue to benefit from chiropractic care. People who want to be as healthy as possible, or who are very active or stressed will find that a regular schedule of visits keeps them in good health. Many people wait until pain is unbearable to seek chiropractic care. This can make treatment more time consuming. Whatever your health goals, we are here to help improve your health. We take pride in our dedication to patient education. Once we've relieved your pain we provide you with the knowledge to prevent the condition from occuring again. Patients who understand their condition and their doctor's recommendations get well faster.
